Welcome!

Vendors interested in selling goods or services within the exterior boundaries of the Pueblo of Pojoaque are required to apply for and obtain a Vendor Permit through the Poeh Cultural Center. This permitting process ensures that sales generated within the Pueblo contribute directly to Tribal programs, services, and operations through local tax revenues.

Similar to the State of New Mexico’s tax requirements, the Pueblo of Pojoaque exercises its sovereign authority to regulate and collect taxes on commercial activity within its jurisdiction.

When filing gross receipts taxes, vendors must accurately report the portion of income earned within the Pueblo’s boundaries. This step is crucial in helping the Pueblo collect rightful tax revenues and preventing non-Tribal entities from inappropriately receiving those funds.

Your cooperation supports the Pueblo’s self-governance, economic development, and essential community programming.

End of Year Taxes

Report Sales Under 87506 for Tax Purposes
When reporting gross receipts taxes, vendors must report the portion of income earned within the Pueblo under the 87506 location to ensure tax funds directly support Tribal programs and services.

Tax Rate Information

The Pueblo of Pojoaque’s current tax rate is 7.125%.

Vendors are required to add this tax rate to the sale price of their goods or services at the time of the transaction. This ensures that the customer pays the tax, not the vendor out of pocket.

Vendors should collect this tax as part of their total sales and report and remit the 7.125% tax separately when filing their gross receipts. This process mirrors the State of New Mexico tax system and helps ensure that the Pueblo receives its fair share of tax revenue to support essential Tribal programs and services.

Please be sure your Point-of-Sale (POS) system reflects the 87506 ZIP code so taxes are correctly attributed to the Pueblo of Pojoaque.
